barbecueYesterday, Sirius XM (SIRI) announced a line-up of exclusive entertainment choices that cannot be heard by any other entertainment medium. Continuing its demonstration of its superior service, the company announced a sports fan’s dream line-up highlighted by a motor sports triple header on Sunday, May 24, with F1(TM) Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR Coca-Cola 600.

“SIRIUS XM Radio (SIRI) announced today that it will offer sports fans a full lineup of sports programming over Memorial Day Weekend, featuring live play-by-play action from IndyCar Series racing, Formula One(TM), NASCAR, Major League Baseball, the NBA and NHL playoffs, PGA TOUR, English Premier League soccer and college baseball.”

This is the type of content that makes those people who think that free Internet based music offerings will somehow lead to the demise of Sirius XM, look foolish. Those that are betting on Sirius XM’s demise at the hand of services such as Slacker and Pandora, are betting on the wrong horse.

Thanks Brandon.. Now if they put this lineup, together with all of their other content on all of their Internet Apps, the differences will show SXM’s content as the “Gold Standard” for investors and consumers alike…

Brandon: As much as I love sports, I love Jimmy Buffett on a memorial day
weekend! It doesn’t get any better than a BBQ, good friends, boat drinks and the Siri blasting out a Jimmy Buffett concert. Right about nine oclock saturday night when we are all very mellow and the cigars roll out with the single malts and the good port and Buffett is singing, life doesn’t get any better. Go Siri!
