The New And Improved Sirius XM

jim-cramer-buttonsBefore I begin, I’d like to offer my old pal Jim Cramer and his crew of washed up “has-beens” a few words of wisdom.

“He has no idea! He’s nut’s! There’re nut’s! THEY KNOW NOTHING!”

Personally I won’t watch him anymore, but there are people that do. I pity them. When it comes to Sirius XM (SIRI), there are pieces of a puzzle that are beginning to emerge as a bigger picture, which those who study the company before rendering advice can see clearly with an open mind.

The much anticipated Apple (AAPL) offering featuring iPhone, iPod and Mp3 downloads is one such puzzle piece, that is expected to be put into place in a matter of weeks. Another piece can found with the recently leaked news that Sirius XM will be enforcing a nominal new music royalty rate increase which of course has been met the with usual childish cries from some subscribers threatening to cancel their subscriptions, as if that made any real difference.

A third piece can be found in the latest Internet channel offerings that include “Internet Only” channels such as Sirius XM Bootlegs and Sirius XM Showcase.  The bootleg channel appears to be a channel devoted to live performances across all genres of music while the showcase channel features Sirius XM’s exclusive music shows. The key to the puzzle lies in the fact that these are in fact only available through Sirius XM’s premium Internet service. No Radio Required! Still another clue lies in Sirius XM’s recent presentation in which the company made clear the fact that various current Internet music offerings such as Pandora are lacking fundamentally.

It appears that Sirius XM is about to reinvent itself again while setting itself apart from those fledgling online music jukebox services. When it comes to performance royalties, Sirius XM has to pay more for Internet streaming, which justifies it’s nominal increases in costs. Consider the potential server overloads that may come into play. The costs of such a program are astronomical if the anticipated launch of a global Internet based music arm of Sirius XM is to be successful.

From a trading or investment perspective, Sirius XM is up over 500% from its February lows. Really Jim. Do you ever tire of being so wrong based on a previous bias?

Well said Brandon! Glad to see you give him a bit of a razzing….someone needs to…his total lack of honesty and integrity is mind blowing…and no one ever calls him to the carpet…the few that have….such as Jon Stewart….deserve our sincere thanks.

I happen to think you are right…this company is evolving with the changing times finally..as opposed to trying to force the issue. That said…I want to see more aggressive moves and I would definitely like to see some announcements with Liberty.

    Brandon: Well said.

Cramer is an idiot and must do what he is told by his short friends. He uses his position on TV to scare and manipulate retailers for his and his friends own agenda. He gives a little good information and a lot of bad information.

As Jim Cramer has stated with his interview on John Stewart’s show part of his schtick is entertainment. There is no way one man could know the insides thousands of stocks. But with his emotional antics he’s reaching to push the emotional button of his audiance. As time goes on he will have his fair share of good picks & bad, just like anyone else. But he is flawed by his emotions. If he has a guest from a company on and gets all warm & fussy w/ them then he jumps on their bandwagon. He is part entertainer part stock anylst but he by no means is a stock guru.

Brandon, we already know Cramer is a fool, somethig is amiss or his ratings are down.

I do have a question that you may be able to find out the answer. As I posted on another board, what is the feasibility of an Apple app for SiriusXM that is pay as you go. A way to subscribe for a day or two at a time. There may be a market for the casual listener that would pay .50 cents or more a day. I think if technically feasible, it could be profitable.

Brandon, well said and about time that those who actually “Do The Homework” begin to shine a light on the idiots that don’t. The recent article and today’s Video from the “Street.com” are a perfect example of misrepresentation of the “conditions on the ground” regarding the GM BK impact from the moron over their and his preschool assumptions of the numbers and their impact on the bottom line….

How can anyone say: SIRIUS “shouldn’t even be a stock”. What kind of statement is that!!! Really Jim??? I surprised a comment like that comes from you. I always liked watching the first ten minutes of his show to get a macro economic view of the country. Now I will be a little more cautious… What a comment Jim…I am truly disappointed!

Clueless: Jim Cramer started his show (Mad Money), grouping Sirius, Rite Aid and General Motors all in the same category. He said “Sirius shouldn’t even be a stock”.

If sirius shouldnt be a stock, then hes gone senile. I looked at the current SEC filings. Last time I checked, they were still in business, and still operating under the bylaws upon their creation. This isnt an opinion, is a libelous lie, 100 percent. The statement…
Sirius shouldnt be a stock, is saying that SiriusXM is BK, and filed chapter 7 a while ago, because only after they filed BK, and went to the pink sheets, and THEN removed, would they qualify by his statement. He should watch his mouth.
