Looking at Liberty Media, and all its diverse holdings, I have been unabashedly excited at what I have found as it relates to SIRIUS XM. There are many both fundamental and speculative reasons to be excited at this strategic partnership. Whether it be Direct TV, Wild Blue, Zoombak, mobile streams or any of the other Liberty Media holdings, one can’t help but wonder what is to come. Especially, as a fan of SIRIUS XM Radio. Though these things alone are enough to get any true fan daydreaming about the possibilities, there may be more to what is going on and in play than meets the eye.

With the APPLE OS 3 application just days from release, and with SIRIUS recently commenting on its APPLE application coming before the end of the 2nd quarter, things are looking up. The Iphone app will undoubtedly be a player with Internet radio from a global perspective. It appears that things are also looking global for Sirius XM. To that end, let me bring to focus another piece of John Malone’s global empire, Liberty Global (LBTYA, LBTYB, LBTYK)

Liberty Global, Inc. (“Liberty Global”) is the leading international cable operator offering advanced video, telephone, and broadband internet services. We operate broadband communications networks in 15 countries principally located in Europe, Japan, Chile, and Australia. Liberty Global’s operations also include significant media and programming businesses such as Chellomedia in Europe, as well as interests in content businesses in each of our regional markets.
Through the efforts of 22,000 employees worldwide, Liberty Global connects 16.9 million customers to the world of information, communications, and entertainment. As of March 31, 2009, Liberty Global’s networks passed more than 34.0 million homes and served more than 26.0 million RGUs, including approximately 15.5 million video subscribers, of which 6.8 million were digital cable and DTH subscribers, 6.3 million broadband internet subscribers, and 4.8 million voice subscribers.
• Active in Europe (UPC Broadband, Telenet, Chellomedia), The Americas (VTR, Liberty Puerto Rico) and Asia Pacific (J:COM, Austar)

It would seem that SIRIUS XM is not just a taker, but also a giver to the Liberty companies and John Malone. They get exclusive content and can leverage it over multiple possibilities….which I am sure was part of the justification for the agreed investment stake just when SIRIUS outwardly appeared to be imploding. Liberty Global has a large subscription base already…just like SIRIUS, giving that base a potential purchase option of exclusive subscription programming can only help.

In addition, the Iphone app just might be a lot more important than we think. It seems that this all is coming together like a puzzle of a thousand pieces that is turning into global expansion without the hurdle of Spectrum licensing that is so expensive and difficult to procure.

As I close let me just say that there is a lot more to what is unspoken, than to what is constantly rehashed over and over again in the mainstream media. Jim Cramer stated that SIRIUS stock was worthless. This is probably not something he should read. It would make too much sense….and who wants to deal with that…..

Position: Long SIRI

Good article with a lot of points to ponder. I have to believe that Mr.Malone & Co. are letting SXM wade through the muck and mire of the problems that they have, before Liberty begins to take advantage of the possibilities that are clearly an advantage to both. I also believe that Liberty will only wait for so long before taking an active role to promote the health of SXM.

I’m piling on all the shares I can afford to buy in SIRI. Jim Cramer is nothing more than a puppet for his buddies! Jim Cramer and CNBC won’t be seen in my home. I even removed the channel from the on-screen guide of my satellite system!

SIRI will become a recognized name… Worldwide. Once you get a taste of SiriusXM, it becomes a necessity… not a luxury! I would cancel my cellphone before I would my Sirius subscription.

    Rusty,

I love my SIRI subscription too and agree with you that once people begin listening, they are hooked. However, canceling your cellphone before cancelling your Sirius subscription. That is crazy………………………………………………………………….why would you do that when you can keep your cell phone and get Sirius on it?

My point was that my Sirius sub costs 15% of what my cell bill is monthly and it (Sirius) gives me MUCH more enjoyment. If it came down to cost cutting, the cellphone would go LONG before my Sirius radio.

Please write about the video below. There’s a rumor that Cramer is manipulating Sirius stock. TheStreet.com has been publishing article after article all negative and in one instance a thestreet.com video, a completely identical video was posted twice on yahoo news from the all negative, one-sided view bashing Sirius XM. And as if that wasn’t enough Jim Cramer himself said on his show that the stock is worthless.

Siri xm Rated strong buy this week!

While volume has been relatively low and current after hours is .33 the smart investor is acquiring this week because a rise is to come and as institutional investors start buying upon anticipation of the apple release & earnings there will be significant movement.

The key is buy low and sell when the gains are satisfactory then reposition holdings,Do not make the mistake of holding out or trying to jump on once the action starts because no matter what the stock goes to there shall be a drop as the institutional investors sell.

    RE:SHORT
Today I realized a gain of 62.5 shorting with a .02 movement on this stock and my BBI & stem shorts were solid as well. Currently I am long with 5mil common acquired between .06-.40 per share and will
continue to short 3-5mil throughout the week and into next quarter.

ROI is relative to capital but regardless, If you do not see a minimum
of 5% return on investments daily then I suggest a second job and perhaps learning a trade because the market is not your thing!

The Ends,Means & ways; ask and you shall recieve.

    cordially,

How can Jim Cramer still be on TV. Once this movie comes out and Jon Stewart see’s this movie, he will be attacking Jim Cramer again. The most watched YouTube video in the future will be a Jon Stewart skit with a clip from Stock Shock where the person doing sign launguage is in the Clip, ” Stewart’s punch line will be ” that man in the Stock Shock movie had the advantage over the other investors because he could not HEAR the lies bleep bleep that Jim Cramer been’s sayinmg on CNBC.

That skit will be hilarious. I need to contact Jon Stewart to do the skit. Two months ago, Cramer was on the verge of being FIRED for the tape that Jon Stewart aired of Jim Cramer lies. When Stock Shock comes out or when I get my voice heard Nationally, I’ll be calling for that skit and then calling for Jim Cramer’s resignation. The Truth will always come out in the end and CNBC and Jim Cramer and Larry Kudlow are playing politics instead of speaking the truth to the American people. It is sickening.
