Fans of Bruce Springsteen have been given a reason to start the July 4th celebration a little early this year. Continuing a long standing holiday tradition, Sirius XM Radio (SIRI) announced plans today to broadcast live performances from “The Boss’ ” current concert tour. The performances are so rare in fact that they have not yet been recorded and will not be until the band takes the stage live on July 3, 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany from their current “Working On A Dream” tour. The performances will air exclusively on E Street Radio, SIRIUS channel 10 and XM channel 58.
The holiday festivities will also include archived Bruce Springsteen July 4th concerts including the July 4, 1985 concert at Wembley Stadium, England, the July 4, 1992 concert in Barcelona, Spain and specially selected songs from a performance in 2008 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Listeners will also get to hear “party songs” selected from various historical concerts and will be treated to a performance by Southside Johnny from the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
