In a recent article, it was announced that H.R. 848, also known as the Performance Rights Act which would force Terrestrial Radio to pay performance fees to the artists, was blocked. Terrestrial Radio conglomerates such as Cumulus Media (CMLS), Entercom Communications (ETM) and the now private Clear Channel Communications have been raking in billions of dollars each year while paying the artists absolutely nothing.
